I’m sure many of you are familiar with the phrase, “wearing your heart on your sleeve.” We all move through life with a range of experiences and emotions, some we’re fully aware of and others we carry without even realizing it. In many ways, those emotions shape how we show up in the world. They become a part of what we “wear.”

My name is Kiersten Mitchell, and I am the owner of Wear Your True Wellness LLC. I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in the state of Florida (MH 23916). I began my counseling journey in November 2019, and through that meaningful experience, Wear Your True Wellness LLC was created. My goal is to support you in learning to wear your true wellness in a positive, authentic way, through counseling, mental health awareness, and personal style.

I believe therapy is not a one-size-fits-all approach. I’m committed to creating a genuine, safe space where every client feels heard, understood, and valued. I am especially passionate about breaking barriers around mental health access and care within the African American community and communities of color. This passion first developed during my time as an undergraduate Psychology major at Florida A&M University. After graduating as a proud FAMU Alumna, I continued my education and earned my master’s degree in Clinical Psychology with a specialization in Clinical Counseling from Capella University. I am currently a doctoral student at Walden University, pursuing a PhD in Counselor Education and Supervision. In addition to my clinical work, I serve as an Adjunct Instructor in the Department of Psychology at Florida A&M University, which allows me to pour into the next generation of future professionals.

Personal style and fashion are also deeply meaningful to me. Over the years, I’ve explored how personal style development and mental health can come together in a true and authentic way and that is how K.E. Vintage Closet came to life. K.E. Vintage Kloset was born from my love of thrifting vintage and statement pieces. It’s a space where personal style and mental wellness unite, with the goal of making mental health resources and services more accessible to our communities.
